There’s a particular feeling that comes with sorting through your children’s outgrown things.

A sweater that once seemed much too big is suddenly too small. A favourite book brings back the sound of their little laugh. Something you carefully chose has barely been worn, yet they’ve already moved into the next size.

As a North Shore mama of two boys, I know that feeling well. Raising young children means constantly making room—for the next size, the next stage, and the little person they’re becoming.

Gather & Grow grew out of that everyday experience, alongside a bigger hope: to create a welcoming local business that cares for children, supports the people raising them, and helps good things find their way to another family.

A thoughtful way to shop for the early years.

Gather & Grow is a children’s resale and consignment business based in North Vancouver, offering carefully selected clothing from newborn to 5T, along with shoes, books, toys, and accessories.

I want browsing to feel welcoming and manageable. Parenting already comes with plenty of decisions; finding a useful pair of pants or a lovely little gift shouldn’t need to become another big task.

Each piece is selected with condition, usefulness, and appeal in mind. I’m drawn to comfortable everyday clothing, textures and details that feel special, books worth reading again, and toys with more play ahead of them.

Sometimes the find is practical: the next size up, an extra layer, something for the daycare bag. Sometimes it’s a piece you weren’t looking for but can immediately imagine your child wearing.

Both belong here.

Thoughtful pricing is part of that approach: making well-chosen preloved pieces feel accessible while recognizing the value of what families are passing along.

Passing things along with care.

The other side of Gather & Grow is helping families find a new home for what their children have outgrown.

Selling individual items can involve more work than we expect. There are photographs to take, descriptions to write, messages to answer, and pickups to arrange. During the early years of parenting, those tasks can sit unfinished for a long time.

Consignment offers another option. Families bring suitable items to Gather & Grow, I select pieces for the collection, and they receive a portion of the selling price when their items sell.

Selection is part of keeping the collection manageable and useful. I consider condition, season, and what makes sense for the families shopping with us. A piece that isn’t selected may still be useful elsewhere; it simply may not be the right fit for the collection at that time.

What I love most is the connection between the two families. One has made room for what comes next. Another has found something they need or love. A little jacket, book, or pair of boots continues its life in a new home.

If you have outgrown pieces ready for another family, you can learn more about consigning with Gather & Grow.

The care behind the business.

My background is in counselling, and caring for children and the people raising them has long been important to me.

Parenthood has made that work feel personal in new ways. These years can hold so much joy alongside tiredness, uncertainty, and the constant work of figuring things out. Practical help matters. So does feeling welcome and connected to the people around you.

That understanding shapes the kind of business I want to build.

I hope Gather & Grow feels comfortable to approach: a place where you can ask a question, browse at your own pace, and feel welcome whether you’re buying, consigning, or simply getting to know us.

It also shapes my longer-term plans. In time, I’d love to bring parenting and family resources, workshops, and opportunities for connection into Gather & Grow.

Those ideas will take care and time to develop. For now, preloved goods are the beginning—a practical way to serve growing families while getting to know the community and what would be helpful to them.

What our first market meant to me.

Our first market in Deep Cove brought so much of this into focus.

Family at outdoor market stall; man holds sleeping baby, child with bottle, woman crouches by clothes display. Sign says Gather & Grow.

Before that day, Gather & Grow had largely existed in the work behind the scenes: choosing inventory, preparing tags, arranging displays, building the website, and fitting it all around family life.

At the market, I got to see people connect with what I had been creating.

There were conversations, questions, kind words, and families taking the time to look through the pieces. Items I had carefully selected were chosen for children who would now wear or enjoy them. My own family was there, too, making the day feel closely connected to the life that inspired the business.

The welcome stayed with me.

Starting something small can feel quite solitary, especially when much of the work happens after bedtime. Meeting people face to face made Gather & Grow feel more shared. It gave me encouragement, useful things to learn, and a deeper sense of connection to the North Shore families I hope to serve.

I’m looking forward to more opportunities to meet local families and share what’s coming into the collection. You can see where to find Gather & Grow next on our pop-up page.

Growing thoughtfully, together.

Gather & Grow is still at the beginning, and I want to give it room to develop thoughtfully.

That means learning which pieces families reach for, listening to questions and feedback, and making practical improvements as I go. It means balancing the business with raising my own children, and letting the longer-term vision grow from real relationships and experience.

My hope is that Gather & Grow becomes a familiar local name—a place you think of when your little one needs the next size, when you have lovely things ready to pass along, or when you’re looking for a thoughtful find.

Every family who shops, consigns, shares a post, or stops for a conversation helps shape that beginning. If you have a question or something you’d like to share, I’d love to hear from you.

Thank you for being here. I’m so glad to be building this in our community.

Come gather & grow with us.

Warmly,

Noemi
